Honor 20 Pro with Sony IMX600 Sensor & Kirin 980 SoC Leaked

A couple of year’s back, Honor launched its last Pro variant smartphone called Honor 8 Pro. Later, the company introduced the View series by launching the Honor View 10 smartphone. In December 2018, the company also launched the Honor View 20 as the world’s first smartphone with a pinch-hole display. Today, we are seeing leaks about the Honor 20 Pro smartphone. Since the company already launched the Honor View 20 (a.k.a Honor V20), we don’t think it will come up with a Pro variant as well.

Based on the Weibo post, the Honor 20 Pro will be launching on April 25th and the base variant will be costing around CNY 2999 (approx USD 445 / INR 31,000). It is mentioned to come with an in-display fingerprint scanner. Currently, the China-exclusive Honor Magic 2 is the only Honor branded smartphone to offer this feature. Talking about the display, it comes equipped with a 6.1-inch OLED panel and will mostly offer Full HD+ resolution.

Under the hood, the device will be use the latest flagship chipset from the HiSilicon – the Kirin 980. It is octa-core processor built on 7nm FinFET node and packs 2x Cortex-A76 cores @ 2.60 GHz, 2x Cortex-A76 cores @ 1.92 GHz, and 4x Cortex-A55 cores @ 1.80 GHz. The Kirin 980 is also first chipset to use the Mali G76 GPU and dual NPU. The Cat.21 LTE modem on this chipset also offers speeds up to 1.4Gbps. It will be launched in 6GB + 128GB, 8GB + 128GB, and 8GB + 256GB storage options.

On the rear, the Honor 20 Pro sports triple camera setup featuring 48MP primary sensor, 20MP wide-angle sensor, and an 8MP telephoto sensor. It is also said to be world’s first smartphone to use the Sony IMX600 image sensor. For selfies, there will be a 32MP single camera on the front of the device. Just like the Huawei P20 Pro and the recently launched Huawei P30, the Honor 20 Pro will also offer 3x optical zoom.

It will be backed by a 3,650mAh non-removable battery and supports 22.5W SuperCharge technology using the USB Type-C port. The device will be running on Android 9.0 Pie based EMUI 9.1 out of the box. It will also include the Huawei/ Honor exclusive features like GPU Turbo and Link Turbo. Since there is no other news about this device, take these details with a pinch of salt and wait for the some sort confirmation from other sources as well.
