The South Korean Giant has launched its new Galaxy Tab Active 2 rugged tablet in India for Rs. 50990. This tablet is targeted towards business to business segment and it is also MIL-STD-810 certified for drops, vibration, excessive external pressure and it also comes with 1.2m anti-shock inbox protective cover. Furthermore, the device also gets IP68 certification for dust and water resistance.
The Galaxy Tab Active 2 supports a better display touch mode for using the device with gloves and wet hands. For security purpose, the company has provided defense grade Knox security platform which will help in keeping the sensitive information safe against malware and hackers. It has a fingerprint scanner along with facial recognition for hands-free unlocking. Like the Samsung Galaxy Note series, even this tablet will be featuring an S Pen Stylus which is also IP68 certified to work in extreme conditions.
There is an 8-inch 1280 x 800-pixel WXGA TFT display provided and under the hood, we can see a 1.8GHz Octa-core Samsung Exynos 7870 processor coupled with 3GB of RAM and Mali T830 GPU. The onboard storage of the device is limited to 16GB which could be extended further up to a maximum of 256GB via microSD card slot. Out of the box, it will be coming with Android 7.1 Nougat and might get further updates, but nothing is mentioned about it.
It has an 8MP autofocus rear camera with LED flash which will be accompanied by a 5MP camera on the front. There is also a 44,50mAh battery on the back and the handset will be available in Wi-Fi and also in 4G versions. The Galaxy Tab Active 2 will be coming in Black color option and will be available from mid-March in India.
