From the past few years, we rarely witness a big robbery in India, but according to news, a big cellphone robbery has taken place in Vijayawada, Andhra Pradesh. A group of unidentified persons has allegedly robbed a truckload of Xiaomi phones after trashing the lorry driver in Nellore district on Highway 16 on Wednesday. According to the report, the tuck was heading towards Kolkata from Sri City during the early hours of the day.
The Phone Lifters have said to thrash the driver and tied him to a tree and drove away with the truck containing the Xiaomi phone worth One Crore. There were around four miscreants who later stopped the lorry at Gowravaram village and transferred the mobile phons to another truck (which is yet to be identified) and fled away from the spot. The truck driver stopped the vehicle to take a rest near the truck lay-by bay when the incident took place.
The villagers later found the truck driver tied to a tree, who was rescued and the same was reported to the police, who rushed to spot to track the stolen truck but found an empty vehicle at Gowravaram village in Vijayawada. According to the police, the robbery could be pre-planned and expect an insider from the company to play a major role in this phone lifting. As per the police, the prices of the phones in the truck ranged between Rs. 6,000 to Rs. 14,000.
Furthermore, there was a robbery case that was registered and investigation on the same has already started.
