Apple Rolls Out iOS 12.1.1 Update, Brings Haptic Touch to iPhone XR

Apple has rolled out the new iOS 12.1.1 update to all the iPhone users along with updates for tvOS, macOS Mojave and HomePod devices as well. The new rollout includes improvements, and much awaited Haptic Touch for iPhone XR users since Apple had ditched the 3D feature, for cost-cutting and making it the cheaper entry-level iPhone of this year.

Apart from the Haptic Touch, the iOS 12.1.1 also brings improvements for FaceTime interface, previously Apple had made some unnecessary UI changes to FaceTime with iOS 12 release, for instance, switching between the front and rear cameras has become confusing to the users. This change was made due to the addition of Group FaceTime calls, recently with the iOS 12.1 update. However, the 12.1.1 update fixes that and switching between the cameras is now comfortable with one-tap and users now can also capture Live Photos during the FaceTime call.

With the iOS 12.1.1 update, the iPhone XR users can now Haptic Touch to preview notifications on the lock screen. Furthermore, Apple had improved Dual SIM and eSIM for additional carriers on this year’s iPhone models.

The iOS 12.1.1 update also has bug fixes, which includes a fix to an issue that made FaceID temporary unavailable and also addresses an issue that could prevent Voice Memos recordings from uploading to iCloud as well.

iPhone users can install the update via OTA (over-the-air) or can connect to iTunes to get the latest iOS 12.1.1 update. Stay tuned to PhoneRadar to get more updates!
