Quibi streaming app was downloaded 1.7 million times in first week

Last week on the launch of Quibi, a new movie and show streaming service focusing on bite-sized content. It launched in the US and Canada, costing either $7.99 monthly without ads, or $4.99 with ads. A generous 90-day free trial is also given to new subscribers.

It would appear the service did well in its first week, as Quibi CEO Meg Whitman told that the Quibi app was downloaded 1.7 million times since its launch last Monday.
