Original article, February 12, 2020 (7:55 AM ET): The Samsung Galaxy S20 series is finally official, and we’ve once again got three core models to choose from. There’s the base model Galaxy S20, the S20 Plus, and the top-end S20 Ultra.
You’re still getting the same basic experience no matter which one you choose, but those on the hunt for the absolute best zoom capabilities and more will need to check out the Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra.
We’ve rounded up all the details on the Samsung Galaxy S20 price, release date, and all the available deals so far. Check ’em out below!
Samsung Galaxy S20, S20 Plus, and S20 Ultra release date
The Samsung Galaxy S20 series was announced on February 11, 2020, but the first launch wave will come on March 6, 2020. That means customers in the US will be able to grab the device then. Customers can also pre-order their S20 series device from February 21, 2020.
If you’re not in the first wave of markets, you’ll need to wait a few weeks after March 6 to get your hands on it.
Samsung Galaxy S20, S20 Plus, S20 Ultra price and availability
The standard Samsung Galaxy S20 price is $999, with the price going as high as $1,499 for the top-tier Ultra device. You can buy the Samsung Galaxy S20, S20 Plus, and S20 Ultra right now on Samsung.com. Read on for some promotional deals Samsung is doing.
If you have a phone you are willing to trade in, Samsung will pay you more money than usual if you upgrade to an S20 device. High-end phones such as the Galaxy Note 10 Plus and iPhone 11 Pro Max will earn you $700 to put towards a Galaxy S20 phone. Older phones will get you much less, but it’s definitely worth checking to see what your device is worth before hitting the “Buy” button.
As a special treat for South Korean buyers, their Galaxy S20 pre-order will come with a free gift: the Samsung Galaxy Home Mini. This smart speaker is currently unavailable anywhere else in the world and Samsung doesn’t seem too keen to even talk about it at large events like Galaxy Unpacked. Still, it’s a nice perk for South Korean buyers.
Additionally, Samsung is offering up to a $200 credit at Samsung.com if you buy a Galaxy S20 device. Here’s how that breaks down:
- Samsung Galaxy S20: $100 Samsung credit
- Samsung Galaxy S20 Plus: $150 Samsung credit

You’ll need to download the Shop Samsung app on your new Galaxy S20 device to redeem the credit. This credit can be applied to accessories (such as the just-announced Galaxy Buds Plus), TVs, or other Samsung products.
