Dungeons and Dragons mobile game Warriors of Waterdeep launches on Android

Video game developer Ludia announced today that Warriors of Waterdeep is now available on the Google Play Store.

Based on the Dungeons and Dragons franchise, Warriors of Waterdeep is a free-to-play turn-based RPG that lets you assemble a team of four heroes. The game offers eight characters from eight classes and player races. They include the following:

  • Calliope: Half-Elf Bard
  • Farideh: Tiefling Warlock
  • Halbenet: Elf Cleric
  • Naomlen: Dwarf Rogue
  • Raika: Half-Orc Barbarian
  • Saarvin: Dragonborn Ranger
  • Shevarith: Human Wizard
  • Tommus: Halfling Fighter

The game’s Explore Mode features a story that’s mainly about helping Laeral Silverhand, the Open Lord of Waterdeep and one of the Seven Sisters. Yawning Portal Inn proprietor Durnan handles the in-game shop, while Mirt the Moneylender runs card-trading.

You can use cards to upgrade your characters, which you can get either in purchased card packs or attained by completing story chapters and bosses. Each character can have up to 12 different pieces of armor, six weapons, four class items, and four wondrous items.

As it relates to items, Warriors of Waterdeep features four in-game transactions: gold, equipment chests, battle chest speed-ups, and revive. You can use gold for equipment upgrades and character level-ups, while chests act as the game’s lootboxes.
