In the last couple of months, Motorola launched the Moto G7 Power and Moto G7 smartphones in the Indian market. Compared to the other budget offering, both these new Moto phones lacked powerful hardware and are also overpriced. While the Moto G7 Plus is yet to make its debut in India, it is now launched in the Chinese market. In China, the Moto G7 Plus with 4GB + 128GB and 6GB + 128GB storage options is priced at CNY 2099 (approx USD 312 / INR 21,700) and CNY 2399 (approx USD 358 / INR 24,800) respectively.
The device comes with a 3D curved glass body. On the front is the 6.2-inch Max Vision display with Full HD+ (2270 x 1080 pixels) resolution and 19:9 aspect ratio. Just like the other Moto G7 devices, the display on the Moto G7 Plus also comes with a waterdrop notch. Under the hood is the Qualcomm Snapdragon 636 Mobile Platform clocked at 1.8GHz. It comes coupled with Kryo 260 CPU and Adreno 509 GPU. As said earlier, the Moto G7 Plus comes in 4GB and 6GB RAM variants in China.
Both the variants offer 128GB of internal storage that can be further expandable up to 512GB using the MicroSD card slot. It runs on Android 9.0 Pie out of the box with no bloatware apps. However, the device comes with Moto-exclusive features like Moto Display and Moto Actions. The device also supports NFC for making contactless payments. It sports front-facing stereo speakers with Dolby Audio support. With the P2i nano-coating, the device also comes splash proof. On the rear of the device, we can also spot the circular fingerprint scanner.
Talking about the cameras, the Moto G7 Plus sports 16MP + 5MP dual rear cameras with f/1.7 aperture, optical image stabilization (OIS), PDAF, and dual-tone LED flash. For selfies, there is a 12 front-facing camera with 1.25um pixel size and supports virtual flash. Both the front and rear cameras can record videos in 4k resolution at 30 fps. Additionally, the rear camera can also record HD slo-mo videos in 240 fps or Full HD slo-mo videos in 120 fps.
The Moto G7 Plus is backed by a 3,000 mAh non-removable battery and supports 27W TurboPower fast charging. It is also compatible Quick Charge 4.0 power adapters for even faster charging. According to the company, the device can last up to 12 hours with just 15 minutes of charging. It measures 157 x 75.3 x 8.3 mm and weighs 176 grams. Connectivity options include 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS, NFC, 3.5mm audio jack, and a USB Type-C port.
