The Redmi Note 7 is arguably the most high-profile 48MP smartphone yet, marking the latest iteration in the mega-popular Redmi series. We’ve known for a while that the phone was coming to India, and Xiaomi has finally confirmed the launch date.
Xiaomi India managing director Manu Kumar Jain announced on Twitter that the Redmi Note 7 would launch on February 28.

The new phone offers a Snapdragon 660 chipset, 3GB to 6GB of RAM, 32GB to 64GB of expandable storage, and a 4,000mAh battery. Users can also expect the aforementioned 48MP primary camera (paired with a 5MP depth sensor), and a 13MP selfie snapper.
Xiaomi’s budget phone, which starts at ~$150, has already sold over a million units in China, according to the brand. The phone went on sale in its home market on January 15, which means it hit the mark in just under a month.
Xiaomi is also working on the Redmi Note 7 Pro, which will ship with a Sony-made 48MP sensor (as opposed to the standard model’s Samsung sensor). The Pro model traditionally receives a power bump as well, so we can likely expect a more capable processor.
