The Samsung Galaxy Watch, already one of the best smartwatches you can buy, has received a $50 discount that knocks the price down from $330 to $280. The price cut applies to the 42mm version in Midnight Black and Rose Gold.
The 46mm model has also received a $50 discount, which brings the price to $300 from $350. The discounts are available through November 10 from Samsung’s own website, Amazon, and Best Buy. The LTE version is not part of the discounts, so it retains its $400 price tag.
Announced alongside the Samsung Galaxy Note 9 in August, the new device is the latest in Samsung’s line of smartwatches. It features a circular Super AMOLED display with 360 x 360 resolution, rotating bezel, dual-core 1.15GHz processor, either 768MB or 1.5GB of RAM, and 4GB of storage.
Unlike most other smartwatches we hear about, the Galaxy Watch runs Samsung’s Tizen OS 4.0. The software allows the watch to not only work with a wide variety of Android smartphones, but iPhones as well. You get more out of the smartwatch if you connect it to a Samsung smartphone, since that enables Samsung Pay and other features.
We thought the device was a well-executed smartwatch that tries to do a little bit of everything. That said, our own Lanh Nguyen criticized Bixby’s reliability and the insufficient amount of storage in his Galaxy Watch review.
